Moon over my house..

For those who know me, you know there are only a few things I allow over my yard. This is one of them. Mom thought the picture was freaky...so I thought I'd share it.

Latest visitor...

This is Zoe. Her owner didn't have any time for her so he was going to dump her at the shelter. She is a purebred American Eskimo. I really, really like her. She looks up to me, maybe because I'm bigger than she is. Her fur is a lovely white, like the fur around my ruff. But because her owner didn't have "time" for her, her be-hind isn't white anymore, but yellow.

I told Mom and she put her in the sink for a medicated bath. Zoe liked it. (Told you she was nice, I hate baths). It helped, but it is still a little yellow. I guess she's been sitting in her own pee for a long time. That is horrible.

She likes my yard too. There is a lot of room to run, and go potty. I'm thinking of trying to send the Eskie rescue people Lily instead. Do you think they'd notice? M-the-V

Corn...

Sunshade asked....

How do I eat my corn on the cob?
First...I choose.

After making my choice...

I check it out thoroughly..

I request the proper vintage and a suitable dish to show it to the best advantage.

Then....I enjoy!!!

Who knew I would like corn!

Louie...

Well having Poo in the house has really reminded me of my brother Louie. Louie passed away last December. Even though he and I got into scraps he was a nice old boy. Mom adopted him when he was 10 yo. He had been in rescue for a year. Not many people want to adopt the seniors. He acted so young, mom didnt' mind. But before he had been with us 2 weeks we found out he had bladder cancer. The rescue said they would take him back, but mom said no, he was ours now.

Louie was so happy when he found out he had a forever home. Mom said he was so happy he was obnoxious. He would rub his face all over her, claiming her. Mom loved him.

My human brothers were only 1 yo and 3 yo when we adopted him. That picture above is right after he came home.

Normally a prognosis for bladder cancer is 180 days. Louie almost lived 2 years. I'm sure it was because of all the love he got. My human brother, Ethan, has had a hard time missing him. Mom said he sat down on the church steps once this year and said he wasn't going to move until God brought Louie back. He needed him more than God did.

Anyway, Mom wants me to pass the word to all my canine friends. Tell your humans to spread the word "Adopting a senior is the best gift you can give yourself. You'll never regret the love you get."

Illness strikes our house...

Hi all,

It has been a little scary here since Sunday. Mom picked up the new little foster, Poo. Only thing is, he is really sick. We are all really quiet and scared. Mom has been up the past two nights in the bathroom trying to help him breathe easier. She took him to her vet this morning and said he might be dying. She thinks he has pneumonia or worse. He seemed like a nice old guy, seemed impressed with my ultimate male tri-ness. Evie has been keeping him company by laying by his crate. But she is like that. Maybe you guys could think some nice thoughts for him. Mom says he is 14yo, and likes to call him Rocky Racoon or the little Wookie, but his name is Poo.
